Annual Conference “Sustainable Health through Academic Excellence, Research and Innovation”
Between 21 and 23 October 2026, the National Institute for Research in Medicine and Health (NIRMH) of Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova will organize the Conference entitled “Sustainable Health through Academic Excellence, Research and Innovation”, dedicated to the celebration of University Days.
The scientific event is traditionally held in the third week of October. This year’s Annual Conference of Nicolae Testemițanu SUMPh will be organized under the slogan “Sustainable Health through Academic Excellence, Research and Innovation”, thereby consolidating the position of our University as a regional and international leader in medical education and research.
The programme of the scientific event is comprehensive, structured around seven scientific fields and six dedicated research clusters. These will include research workshops, including new formats such as the Live Research Lab and the Creative Ideation Session, research-focused courses, and debate forums.
Thus, Day I of the Conference, 21 October 2026, will be dedicated to the training and development of professional competencies through research workshops, interdisciplinary workshops, educational courses in research, and applied interaction.
Day II, 22 October 2026, will represent the scientific core of the Conference, focused on supporting the research activity of young researchers. On this day, the following events will be organized: the session dedicated to young researchers, featuring oral communications and poster presentations; the “Research4Youth” competition, dedicated to PhD students; the interactive clinical case session; and, last but not least, thematic symposia within the clusters.
23 October 2026 will be the Day of Recognition and Appreciation of Institutional Impact. On this day, the festive meeting of the University Senate and the Laureates’ Gala will take place, during which the best representatives of the academic community will be awarded, selected from among academic staff, students, resident physicians, PhD students and master’s students.
The Conference aims to highlight the role of Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy as a centre of excellence in medical education and research at regional and international level. The event will focus on the research and innovation activity of young people in training, the results of advanced research, commitment to quality and scientific impact, the strengthening of interdisciplinary collaboration through scientific and educational sessions, as well as the use of the modern research and innovation infrastructure developed in recent years.
